Davit crane and deck equipment components

We manufacture structural and machined components for lifeboat davits, deck handling equipment and marine fittings, to customer drawings. We have supplied a European marine lifting equipment group on this basis, and we ship from a factory about 60 minutes from Hai Phong port.

What we make

Component groups

  • Davit main frames and base structuresWelded steel structures, machined mounting faces, ISO 3834 welding with UT and MT on load-bearing welds
  • Winch drums and sheavesCNC turned to IT5–IT6, surface roughness Ra 0.16–0.32 µm
  • Winch housings and gear casingsMachined on our large bed mill — bore alignment held to under 0.02 mm position tolerance
  • Bronze bushings and bearing componentsTurned from copper alloy to drawing
  • Stainless fittings and cable clampsSUS316L for permanent seawater exposure
  • Stainless oil and service tanksRolled, TIG welded, pickled and passivated after welding
Why it fails at sea

Three failure modes we design the process around

Weld porosity in load pathsA sound-looking weld can be porous or lack root fusion. For davit structures that is where failure starts, so load-bearing welds get UT and MT, not just a visual check
Loss of passivation on stainlessThe heat-affected zone loses its passive layer during welding. Untreated, the weld corrodes first. We pickle and passivate as part of the process, not on request
Bore misalignment in housingsBores machined in two setups accumulate error, and the drum runs out. We machine in one setup where the geometry allows it
Materials

Marine material selection

Structural steelSS400 and equivalents · hot-dip galvanised or blasted to Sa 2.5 and coated
Alloy steelSCM440 for shafts and highly loaded machined parts
Stainless304 for general service · 316 / 316L for permanent seawater exposure
Copper alloysBronze and brass bushings, turned to drawing
TraceabilityMTC per heat lot on every order

On marine work the material certificate is not paperwork, it is the product. A 316L fitting without a certificate is a 304 fitting as far as your client’s inspector is concerned.

Be clear up front

What we are, and what we are not

We hold no classification society approval — no DNV, no ABS, no Lloyd’s Register. We manufacture marine components to your drawings and your specification, with full material traceability and weld inspection records. If your project requires class-approved fabrication, say so at enquiry stage and we will tell you honestly whether we fit.

What we do offer is the combination that is hard to find in one shop: heavy welded structure and precision machining under one roof, with the documentation an EU client expects, from a factory an hour from a deep-water port.

If you are qualifying a second-source supplier in Southeast Asia to reduce single-country exposure, that is exactly the conversation we are set up for. Send one drawing and judge us on it.
